Drive Shaft Bearing

Have their been many Clutch side Drive shaft bearing,(not the jackshaft) going out on the 13 and newer 800 Pro's ? I had one go bad at 500 miles, I have put another 1200 miles on the replacement and it still seems to be good, just wondering if this has been a common problem.

The issue I've seen in that location is the bearing is fine but the shaft has worn undersized. My belief is; the factory / vendor being on the low side of the tolerance, and it not being a true press fit to start with. The shaft starts slipping both radially and axially on the inside race of the bearing.

Seems about 400-500 miles is about the time it is very noticeable. At that milage the shaft is worn to 23-24mm diameter instead of the 25mm diameter that it started out at.

I have collected about a dozen '13 take off driveshafts during the "failure scare" and nearly half of them the bearing slides or falls off that end of the shaft.

For what it is worth.

Have you seen many on the 14's or have they corrected the issue ?

I personally have not seen a '14, other than in the show room. With our **##@@! weather this winter, most have barely ridden.

I would hope they recognized the QC issue when they were correcting (not just clamping) the other side. It has been very quiet on the web as far a any drivetrain issues (since they sent out the clamps for the '13's); so my best guess is they corrected the issue.

I just replaced all my shaft bearings due to clutch side driveshaft bearing gone bad.
1100 miles on a 13 Pro.
Spun on the shaft a little.
I used Loctite 609 bearing retainer on all the bearings.
Replaced the quick drive bolts and washers.
Will go out this weekend and hopefully enjoy no vibrations in my feet anymore.

Thanks to everyone for their replies, sounds like they may have solved the issue, I am thinking about snow checking and am trying to decide between the PRO or std RMK. I weigh around 210 and in the past I have had to change my clutching to maintain RPM. My 13 PRO is the first sled I have not had to to change anything, have given the belt drive the credit for this, That is the main reason I am shying away from the std RMK.
