So i have a 09 dragon 800 with a holz skid on it, Im thinking about putting a silber turbo on it but Im having some second thoughts on it simply because my sled has around 2500 miles on it already and I dont wanna blow anything up, any ideas what I should do?

have you gotten the update done? replace pistons, have the crank checked out, balance the clutch and you should be good to go. I've been thinkin the same thing on my 2010 D8 until yesterday....

yeah i got the 2010 motor updates, i have about 1000 miles on that already though?:face-icon-small-sho

i see, if your going with a silber kit, i would take the money you saved over other kits and send my motor off to indy specialties and have dan work it over with his crank set up, best bet for longevity

i appreciate the advice, i think ill give silber a call and see what he has to say if he runs a dragon with high miles under boost

on silbers test sleds he has some with high millage but like the other user said with the money you save it would be a good idea to have everything checked out. i have a silber turbo kit on my 2010 dragon and im real happy with his kit and support i would say go for it

Defiantly look that bottom end over. Indy dan had some pictures posted of the bottom end of a turboed 800 and the snap ring groove was giving out. there was not much meet left there after putting the groove for that bearing so they had to move it. the guy was lucky it was just about to break off and go through the motor. i beleive it was Kinzer on here you might ask him some questions. Just food for thought.

from everything I'm hearing it gets me itchy, i think Ill just got for it and have my crank checked out by the dealership i got the sled at?

Run it for the rest of the year and have indy dan check it out this summer. From what ive seen it seems like the best option, Unless you have a really good dealer.

Indy Dans thread about this was on 10/09/09 if you want more info on the snap ring bearing. just find all post by Indy dan and go to that date, it has happened to more than one.
