dragon turbo build ? for the gear heads out there

getting a parts list started for my09 dragon building a turbo sled and was wanting a air intercooler and was wondering what demensions the coolers you guys have on your sleds. was also wondering if to large a cooler would have negitive results, like more turbo leg or things related to that. was also wanting opinion on the cheap intercoolers on ebay or if there is a company you guys would leed me to. thanks for looking

Frozenboost is a mile away from our shop. They dont have any air 2 air intercoolers suitable for a sled.

We have installed 5 custom water to air intercooler kits on pros and dragons and they work UNREAL. Ordered some parts from frozen boost to make the kits. Its a must if your deep powder bashing for 10 mins straight, absolutely no fade off from intercooler getting hot.

Any chance of posting some pictures and parts list? Thanks

so still wondering about what size are these intercoolers

If you are planning to run over 12psi boost you might look into a cooler. One problem is getting out were cool air can rip through it. If you are not running higher boost you do not need one, you should run a large enough turbo though, it will spool just as fast if not faster on a two stroke.

Is this for a 800, how much boost do you want to run?

yes it is a 800 what would you say the max is on the engine i hear people say 12 so some where close to that. also wondering how the aero charger turbo is or any recommandations are always good for a turbo size. i have not had the chance to be around turboed sleds so i would love to hear opinions:face-icon-small-hap

I would call Steve at Northstars ultimate outdoors in Idaho he has alot of luck and time with dragon turbos I believe he even has a complete kit inner cooler turbo controler and all the parts needed to even the aerocharger turbo for 4500$ his number is 208-852-1888

PM ME I CAN SET YOU WITH SOME GOOD ADVICE TOWARD PART I BUILD KITS FOR POLARIS AND ARCTIC CAT I HAVE A FEW THING YOU MIGHT WANT OR PROBABLY NEED AND I CAN BEAT MOST PRICES

I have a a used aero kit for sale . Or all parts you might need to make this sled a monster. Most guys run a 200/250 aero .

thanks for the comments last night hardly slept a wink dreaming of the new tig welder i bought yesturday cant wait to fab my sled for winter the snow storm wed night has me all pumped up

as far as fuel controllers i talked to boondocer they had me some what sold on their fuel box but first i wanted to see what all of you have to say about them compared to fuel boxs like Attitude Fuel Controller and the others that are simular to this. just need to know if BD box is as solid as they say.and as far as raising rate fuel regs and things of that nature really not needed with BD box or would i have to mod the fuel system. just trying to get some facts straight before i pounce on my wish list and get something that isnt going to work for me. i am drooling for some solid advice and pointers thanks

also wanting to start with a fresh engine this season have about 1600 miles on him is there pistons out that are lower comp or pistons that are better than another. and also wondering if any one has their crank balanced and pinned or any thing like that seriously needed. i know for sure i need to pull my motor and change bearings. any referals to who could do the rod bearings for me or do i take it to a vehicle engine builder to have crank work done

What year is your motor? As far as the fuel control boxes some are more user friendly then others, i would recommend attitude as he is good to work with i use his boxes on all my kits, i havent seen really any problems with the dragon cranks on boost. How much boost you looking to run? Pm me Oh and for the top end look up mtnteks longevity kit i used them in the past on turbos they work real good and have wiseco pistons in the kit. How does Oilless automotive turbo sound?
