Dragon 8 review - Polaris you got it right!

Dragon 8 review - Polaris: you got it RIGHT!

After riding my new 8 Dragon today I just gotta say. Thanks Polaris! Best OOTB sled Ive ever bought! Great track, smoothest powerband Ive ever felt, incredible chassis, great clutching.

i agree. after owning an 07 summitx last year i can really appreciate a sled that does what it's supposed to.

I love my Dad's you would never think it was stock by ridding it. Feels like a mod in stock form with twin pipes this thing is going to rip.

i put 140 miles on my 800 dragon, i was riding with boon dockers and was beating the xp they had. i was happy and no problem. it hold rpm's up anything and doesn't matter how deep. m1000 is the only competitor in my eye's

Yeah, doesn't feel like a stock sled at all. The stock setup feels really good from the motor, clutching, suspension and handling. It will take a little tweaking for each persons individual riding style, but overall the best sled I've ever ridden. The clutching is going to need some cooling for sure. I've only done about 30 miles mostly trail and could tell it was getting alittle warm. I love the riding position, feels like a dirtbike.

Were you beating the XP down the trail or up the hill in the snow? Just curious? I rode with 2 XP's in 5' deep bottomless sh!t and they impressed me. I just barely broke 100mls on my D8 163 but I just don't know if it will climb with the XP 16?X16. Plus Im fat:( I smoked the XP down the trail though. Must be geared WAY lower.....

BTW the 2 XPs ran flawlessly all day. I see lots of guys complaining about them....Only thing I didn't like is the handle bars hit me in the nuts when I turn....Ill keep the Dragon:)

I was racing the xp up a long nasty hill in about one foot of powder and a good base. It would pull me for about 100 ft then the dragon checks out. The only reason it pulled me is because of the track, i'm sure it hooks up better off the line. Now for the bad news, it would make a higher mark on the hill by about 15ft, again though that was in 4ft of fresh and the 16 wide track comes into play when it's that deep. Even if the dragon didn't beat any sled up a hill in a strait line, there is no way i would replace the chasis. I can throw it around like nothing else, i love it. I rode four days straight and i'm not sore at all, that sure isn't how it used to be on the old rev i had. What i really want to race is a m8, i think that will be a killing on the hill.

Is it just me, or is anybody else confused! You say you beat the XP easily, and then you say the XP went about 15' higher on the hill than you. Can you explain a little better? Are you just saying you beat the XP down the trail?

Let's not compare xp's are not consistant...

I have both 07 700 dragon 155 and the 08 800 163 dragon my 17 year old rides the 700 , made the xp's look like 600's all day long. Don't even think about comparing my 800 dragon to an xp . Not saying some ,some where run good but mostly from what i've seen so for not any better than a rev. I am waiting for one xp to run well so we could acually say the have the edge on a rev. Sorry have not seen it yet .

im dying to ride a new dragon!!! and i rode a very well running xp...i really wasnt that impressed. dont get me wring, nice machine, but not what i expected...then again, i never was a big fan of the rev chassis anyway...
