Doo guys input needed on 600 Rev's

So i'm in the market for a newer sled since I just sold my '01 800RMK. I hear alot of talk on the Polaris site about their 600 and how it does pretty well. There are lots of big bore kits, pipes etc available for it and NOS as well, But I am wondering if the 06-07 summit Revs are as capable of a machine? Are there pipes and cans that wake them up? Has anyone put NOS on one and how well does it work with the SDI? I liked my 800 well enough but I think that the type of riding I do I could be happy with a 600 if I had the NOS for when I really needed it. Any imput is appreciated....Just trying to make an informed purchase... thank, Curt

Oh am I glad you posted this question. Was going to do the same. I have been looking at Dynoport stuff, thats about all I can find other then carrying the bottle on board.

I ran a 04 Renegade XPS extended to a 144 and with the 600 SDI (first year of it). Had a Dynoport pipe and can, and some clutching.. The sled was just weird.. I wouldn't own another SDI. It went into the dealer sooo many times getting new mapping and programming and it still always had weird problems and bogging.. I also had a 07 600 polaris.. One of the best sleds ever made as far as i'm concerned. I ride a doo but if i rode a 600 i wouldn't even think twice about which one i'd be on. The polaris is superior handling, and superior climbing by far. Save yourself the hassle of trying to get performance mods on a rotax and just buy the polaris. Ride both before you make up your mind, but i know what you will choose if you ride both..

Im a ski-doo/yamaha guy if your in the market for a 600 mtn sled go for a 07 are newer polaris 600 rmk.

I ride an 06 600 sdi and love it. I've also ridden my buddies 07 poo 6 and liked it too. to answer your question, the revs are without question just as capable. I personaly would take the rev over the poo any day, but thats just preference. you'll have to ride them for yourself
either way your making a smart choice in movin to a 6. you say you "think" you'll be "happy" with a 6, in my experience its not a stretch to say a properly tuned newer 600 would give your old sled a little whoopin. their definitely underated

I've got an 05 600 summit HO, and an 06 summit sdi........

night and day power difference, fuel consumption difference and overal reliability...

i've had many times when people ask if I really have a 600 in the 06 because of the performance.... with a little finese, I can go anywhere my 800's will.... very solid sled for sure

I ride an SDI and love it...no problems starting ever and no worries about switching jets or any of that crap....you jsut get a mapping that you need and your good to go...

the 600 SDI are a well made sled and reliable...

I am curious as well tho...why not just go to an 800??

the 600s are nice and yes you can do mods to them or any other 600...but 800s are not much different in price and you can mod them up as well...

if you get a 6 and your friends have 8s or bigger you will always be kicking yourself for getting a 6... JMO

GL with what ever you do..

Welcome fellow 600 buddy!

I own an 07 600 sdi summit and fricken love it. I bought it new and now has 1200 miles on it...no blown belts, never been to the shop...oh sh!t, jinxed myself. This sled is very cabable in the powder and oh boy is it fun. Hav found a spot or two in the straight up climbs where more power would be nice but trying to get to the top is all the fun right?! I have dj"s kit on it and really like it. Only mod that I was curious about for this sled would be the boyseen power x wings and reed valves. Just saw the advertisement but have never heard anything first hand. I have never ridden a 600 poo but I sure am happy with my little guy! Let us know what you decide!

same.

my 07 SDI has been extremely reliable, only problem is i went through a couple belts, but the dealer is looking at clutch allignment for me. I have no problem getting to where the 800s go, just gotta be more creative at times....:)

Wife ran a 07 with hps can ran great the first year then had some electrical problems, simular to my brothers 1000 rt. However when it ran great it screamed for a 600, if I was you I would put a 151 track on it, if your stuck on getting a 600 try the new 600xp 154. Or like people mentioned before just step up and get a 800. Good luck:beer;

I've got an 07 600 SDI and I like it alot. But it's not enough power, and I'm not very big. I'd get an 800 if I were you. It was fine when I learned to ride, but I outrode it pretty quickly. It still does really well, but I'll get an 800 when I can afford it. One problem I had was the ECM ? connectors getting full of moisture which would make the sled bog hard, especially in powder or if I went through a creek. Filled it with di-electric and it still did it. I've sealed it with silicon, but will probably end up moving it to a better spot. That made it run badly. It's a good sled so far, needs clutch work to run great. But it's still a 600, and just not enough for me.

Thanks so far for all of the imput. As far as going with an 800... I seem to be hearing so much about the rings going bad. I just got through the stigma of the polaris cranks and really don't want the worry of another issue in the back of my mind everytime I go out.

the 600 will last forever, mine ('05 600 144) was a rental before i got it, thrashed that sucker, it had around 5000 miles on it when she let go, and but that was after i bigbored it!!

great sled, drop a few pounds, put some good skis on it and it will go plenty of great places, aINT gonna put down no highmarks, but still a great time to play on!! It will boondock forever, its a blast in the tight trees.

I have a 07' rev 600 SDI. Its a great sled. Most people wont know the differnce in power between it and an 800 when they ride it. The 800's will out highmark it, but thats to be expected. I would still recommend buying an 800 and forgetting the N2O.
I live in draper and will be selling my 07' 600 if you are interested PM me.
