look at the numbers and the ratio for 180 is no good for mountians on 1200
renegade 1200
517 dry
+25 turbo, intercooler, charge tubes, guages etc...
+15 longer 144 track, extended rail, tunnel lengthened
557 dry
LB per HP ratio is more than 3
a stock xp (at 2.9 LB per HP) will walk all over this setup in the mountians and in the trees when it is chest deep
Well, in our group we don't like to pull them around operatorless and dry. Just not as much fun that way. I know it adds weight, but we put gas in the tank, a rider on board, heavy winter clothes, extra pack of gear, fill the rear susp clear full of snow, as well as try to line the tunnel full of ice if possible. So let's just add 300more #'s up there for comparisons for our crew...
557 + 300 = 857/180 = 4.76/1
What dry numbers are you wanting to werk with on the 800?
I am sure the machine goes a lot better dry and riderless.... OK - well I KNOW they go a LOT better riderless, but not for long it seems... But we just don't use ours that way too often.
The sleds actual weight may be a variable, but there is not the only value in the equassion...
