Well, I hate doinig this, but I feel I have no choice. I'll try to make this long story as short as possible. I have been looking for and installing reverse on my Tcat. Teamboracer contacted me and said he had a "complete kit" that he removed from his ZR900. I asked that it had both gears, the linkage, and the lever, to which he answered yes. I paid him his asking price for it, and rec'd a box of parts. The first thing I noticed was the caged needle bearing was loose in the box, and about half the needles were out and a few of them had fallen through a hole in the bottom of the box, gone. Not a big deal, ordered a new one from my dealer, $30. Then I mocked up everything to make sure it's all there. Then I realized he sent me a 13W upper gear and a 15W lower gear...he never mentioned these two gears were different widths. At this point, I started sending Bo PM's, and posted a thread on the major sled sites asking if anyone has a 15W chain and upper gear, or 13W reverse gear for sale. No one had them for sale. Bo responded to my PM only to say that he was out of town for a week or so and had no cellular service where he was. I said "fine, just call me when you get back." Weeks went by and I did not hear from him. I saw that he had been on line several times, so I knew he was getting the several PM's I sent him, asking him to please call me. In the meantime, I ordered a new gear and chain, now spending over $100 in parts to make this "complete" kit complete. I spent the money figuring Bo was a man, and he and I would work something out. He has recently stated that he "assumed" I had 15W gears in my sled. Even so, it is not recommended that you use a narrower gear on top. I assumed nothing more than what he said, that the kit was complete. Tonight I sent him another PM offering that I would send him his 13W upper gear back, and that he send me $100 of my money back. I figured this is fair since I have almost $150 invested in this above the $300 I paid him. I told him the least he could have done was tell me that the two gears were different widths. Below is his response. Does this sound like someone you'd like to sled or make transactions with???????
"well i guess you should have asked for pictures of every part then..... sorry not gona happen.... it was you who spent the money foolishly on the internet, join the club ive done it too... buy at yer own risk obviously that 13 wide gear isn gona do me any good either if i have a 15 wide setup now... tough luck buddy"
Now the funny thing about him saying he has a 15W setup, is that he told me he went with a belt drive on his sled.
I've dealt with other forum members, buying and selling, and have had no problems. I thought dealing with forum members was like dealing with a fraternity, a sense of security, guys that would do right, and look out for each other.
Bo, maybe it's just your age, but even at 20 years old I wouldn't have misrepresented something as complete, if it wasn't. Just remember, what comes around goes around, and yours is coming some day. You need to grow up and be a man. If you care to change your mind and own up to your fault, I'll have this thread removed and hold your name in good graces.
