Does the Nytro Have a break in chip?

Took the new beast out for a little trail ride to get a few break in miles on it yesterday. Seemed like it had plenty of grunt down low, but felt weak on top. Handles like a dream feels very light (untill it gets stuck). I did get off the trail a little, felt like it did not want to pop on top of the powder, just trenched. Not sold on the track, I think it's going to go when the mnt tamer shows up next month. Also think that it could gear down a tooth. Unless there is a break in chip, I think that a turbo might be a must....

Thats a long break in chip!!!! Does anyone know if it is hours or miles? Can I just run it on the stand? Also were are everyones limiter straps set?

Thanks

There is no chip. they just loosen up & gain rpm,s as the miles increase. My 2 last 4 strokes seemes to hit the sweet spot at 1000 miles. my 08 nytro just loosened up a bit at 250 miles & gained some throttle response & some top end.

most 4 strokes dont break in completely till around a 1000miles but it will start working allot better at a couple hundred miles.

don't just run it on the stand, you want to load up the motor instead of just letting it rap out... and I second the 1000 mile theory... Each ride it will get better and better top end and throttle response.

FWIW, I wasn't complete happy with mine after my first ride - didn't like the track, seemed to lack top end, etc. Mostly bottomless snow that trip.

Last trip - you couldn't get the grin off my face. There was about 2-3 feet of base on 2-3 feet of fresh. The power seemed right there when I needed it, top end seemed much better, handled like a dream. Took some time to get used to a 4 stroke but after last ride, I couldn't be happier.

....well, perhaps if I came across a hair dryer for it :)

Mine trenched like a backhoe until I sucked up the limiter staps...now she'll go more places than I want to:D:D

So you tightened (shortened) the limiter straps and by doing so put more pressure on the skis and this helped in the powder? Interesting....might have to try that out one day...I thought it was the other way around.
