does plug ap really affect performance?

does plug ap really affect performance? and how narrow does what and wide does what?

in general if its close it will run good, with to big a gap i know that you can actually blow the spark out now and then and get a weird stutter and with em to tight you dont get as complete a burn from sparks being not large enough, again, close on most sleds is all that matters, modded out sleds are a tad more sensetive, but again, nothing to important, just isnt hard to do, so might as well do it.
