Do you think this guy deserves this punishment?

I know this guy and the real question is not "does he deserve a dui" but does he deserve to lose his business and all his assets over this?

Leave it to the dang media to not tell all the facts. Just "alcohol was involved"

Anyway the real story from a guy that was actually there and riding on the golf cart said the guy that fell off was from another camp that jumped on the back where the clubs go when they drove by his camp... and he was standing hanging on to the canopy supports on back. The driver wasnt doing anything crazy the guy just fell off.

Now, driver a local business owner will most likely lose everything and then some. Hind site being 20/20 he should of stopped the cart and said you need to get off....but in the real world would you of done that??

The guy that fell off doesnt look like he is going to make it. My buddy said he split his skull open right there that night. Bad deal all around.

Take away from this the reality of the risks we are open to at all times. I guess we should just not do a dammmm thing or we risk being sued or worse.

IMO, he doesn't even deserve a dui. Golf cart? Really?
What's next, I get a dui driving my lawn mower around the back yard with a beer?
Sad that the guy fell off, but he's 30 yrs old, so old enough to know the risk (is it really much of a risk?) of hopping on the back of a golf cart.
And he (injured passenger) must have been shat faced himself to crack his skull falling out of a golf cart.

So his family is suing the gc driver I presume?
They need to be hit in the head too!

Hopefully he has an unbrella insurance policy to cover if they win the lawsuit. Much more to the story I'm sure, looks like they were all drunk. Reality is the driver not stopping put himself as the responsible party, and drunk pretty tough to pass responsibility back to the passenger.

I don't agree with it necessarity but would be this is how the court will see it.
