Do you think there will be a gun ban?

Straight out prohibition? Nope.

SOME sort of legislation will go through.

General limitations for all citizens? Probably (But I sure as hell hope not).

Probably something that resembles the Brady Bill (God I hope not).
And hopefully WAY before that happens though, we have some mental healthcare OVERHAUL!!!!!

If there's a gun ban I'm pretty sure a civil war would fire up. I'll be on the side with the guns. I definitely agree with Scott too about the mental healthcare overhaul.

All guns banned = NEVER

Restriction of some sort, maybe. Large capacity magazine restriction seems to be the one most discussed, but there are so many already in existence, those who want one wouldn't have much of a problem getting one. I think this restriction would be worthless.

The one existing law that gives a crazed shooter the biggest safety net is gun free zones. They know that nobody can shoot back and they are free to do as they want. How many shootings do you see in a gun shop where there are hundreds of guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition, large capacity magazines, etc? None, because they know someone will shoot back.

Restricting those with mental health issues or on certain medications needs to be looked at first. It's the person, not the gun.

Just my opinions

Gun trade shows should have to follow the same restrictions as any retailer selling firearms.
This would be a logical concession most gun owners would sign off on.

i could see them trying to limit high cap. mags and doing the assault rifle ban again. if they do hopefully they just stop the sales and let those that have them alone like before, i think it'd be hard for them to take them away. i don't know how it is elsewhere but the one or two gun shows I've been to here still did background checks. if places don't, i wouldn't have issues with them requiring them to. i agree first they need to fix the people cuz if some nut wants to kill someone they will guns or no guns.

I heard Texas schools are no longer gun-free zones. I've heard teachers are allowed to pack. Would like to see documentation on that.

It's on the table in a lot more places. In our school district, the Supt has reportedly taken MANY calls this week about that topic. 4 in every 5 calls, he said, is a request to allow qualified teachers (ccw carriers) to carry.

That's not unreasonable to talk about.

While I oppose such a ban....there is little I can do alone to prevent it. If it's passed, there had better be a grandfather clause.
Voluntary surrender (or involuntary, for that matter) is a joke. No way would that happen.

i disagree with a ban on them to but like u said if it happens we'll have no say.

on the texas thing they had one school on the cbs news the other night that some of the faculty does carry concealed weapons. they were interviewing the principle or someone of the sorts. he said they started carrying after the virginia tech shooting, and has had many districts calling asking about the program since last friday.

The story I had heard said the whole state took that policy...but it may very well be that only a couple districts are piloting a program too.

Whatever the case, I'd like to see the model of their plan and hear how it goes.

I hope I am wrong but I honestly do think we are going to see another ban on the so-called "assault weapons" and large capacity mags. I am sure there will be a grandfather clause as before for those that are already out there. Based on what I have heard about the sales of "assault rifles" and parts for them such as uppers and lowers and mags over the last week, I think there would be an uprising if they tried to push anytype of "surrender" of the current weapons in existance.

Everybody talks tough but I bet you would be amazed at how fast people would fold. They would just stiffen the penalties for the ones who didn't and slowly catch a few here and there. Throw them in jail while child molesters are being let free.

For all the illinformed, you can fire 6 shots out of a single action colt faster than 6 out of a semi auto pistol. Seen it done. The auto was .2/sec and the colt was .15/ of a second.

They did itin Australia, made everybody turn in guns, and they chopped them all in half right there and melted them down. I believe that in order to have a gun to even hunt it has to be kept at the sherrifs office and checked out. They banned the high cap mags when Clinton was in, and we got them back, now we're gonna lose them again.

I didn't see anybody "talking tough" in here???

I think he ment the politicians.

We will just have to see what gets introduced and who votes to pass it. Then wait for the next election and hope the gun lobby still has teeth.
