Do you lift your track off the ground wien not using it? IF SO... HOW??

Just wondering how you guys store you sleds with the tracks off the ground. I have a switchback assault.

I was wondering if its alright to hang it by the back bumper on a stand or will this damage the bumper or stress the tunnel to much causing it to bend?

Whats the best method?

thanks

I don't have a stand so I use a 18" piece of 2x4 standing on the 2" side and put under track/rails and it raise the track off the ground.
Some day I will get a nice stand..

Trailer long distances the same way. 2 by fits between the lugs perfectly. Keeps lugs from taking a set.

2x4 here too... I also use a 2x4 wedged under the front bumper to relive the shock pressure while stored for longer periods. A 2x4 under the back tunnel where the heat exchanger comes across works well to take the weight off the rear shocks too.

A bit hard to see in the pic, but a box built with 2x4s, screwed to a dolly so I can roll her around in the shop. The long boards are between lugs.

Dude I bought my sked from was all about it, even had a 2x4 on end screwed to a dolly for the rear to roll around on!! When I picked it up he wouldn't let me leave without shoving a 2x4 under track on the trailer and funny enough it actually stuck there the 2.5 hour drive home over Berthoud. Personally, my track is on a dolly most of the time because it's slid around the garage a lot so there is only weight on one lug, maybe that's worse idk, but if stored in one place for extended period of time, why not throw a 2x4 under there, definitely isn't going to hurt anything.

The owners manaul states that the sled should be stored with the wieght off the track. I have a home built stand that goes under the bumper. Difference is, mine has a steel bumper, I am not sure how the stock one would fare.

Funny ive never seen a dealer with the track off the ground on their units that sit for a couple years some times.

i have dollys. i put a 2x4 about 15 inches wide on the track one so it sits on that rather than the lug and i have 2 15" 2x2s on the ski ones to support the ski better than the carbides sitting on the ski dollys.

X2.....not a bad idea to get weight off the rear suspension along with the track. I've found it really keeps the torsion springs from sacking out prematurely over time. I also turn the tensioner blocks down to the softest setting if won't be riding for a week or two to help reduce spring fatigue also.
