Do you have to buy the BDX Deflection Adjuster Tool???

If you buy the aluminum BDX belt deflection adjuster, do you have to use the BDX tool or will the stock one from an 05 or 06 tool kit work?

The stock one didn't fit my BDX adjuster. I had to grind the nub out of the middle of it.

X2^^^. '05 M7. Later models may be different. However, I bought the tool and think it was well worth the $$ for ease of belt removal.

hmm, I thought it fit on my 06, anyways, I just bought one for my 09 and got there belt changing tool too. works with the deflection adjuster Allen wrench and can be used to turn the deflection adjuster, or to spread the sheaves for belt easy removal with out loosening the deflection adjuster. screws into the adjuster and push's the sheaves back

I'm getting older and like things easy:D

Thanks guys!

It does more than I thought it did. Their website only has pictures and no product info.

It sounds like it is worth the money. I will pick one up and try it out.

stock tool

I was wondering if I can use the stock tool if I grind down the center?

When the 2ndary is on the sled with the belt on you can just turn the back shive and push in on the helix the belt will drop in the shiv, it holds it open a little then the adjuster can be turned by hand without a tool. At least this is how I do it on my torsional setup from RKT you may not be able to do it this way on a stock compression setup.
