Do the new Axys sleds come with an Electronic Fuel gauge?

Polaris AXYS RMK/SKS owners manual, pg 51 states Fuel gauge as a feature on the STANDARD instrument Cluster and shows a picture of it on pg 50.

=======================================

"3. Fuel Gauge - The segments of the fuel gauge show the level of fuel in the fuel tank. When the last segment clears, a low fuel warning is activated. All segments including the fuel icon will flash. Refuel immediately.

*tip: if the fuel icon fails to display, an open or short circuit has occurred in the fuel sensor circuit. see your dealer."

=======================================

When I started my snow checked SKS after I got it from the dealer to make sure everything worked, I never saw a fuel gauge OR the little fuel icon that the tip talks about. Is it a trip to the dealer already or is this a typo in the owners manual and something that only applies to "trail sleds". I can't believe Polaris would put an electronic fuel gauge in the sled, and also have the standard tank float gauge like previous years... But that is what the owners manual claims.

I got the AXYS RMK with the IDD and its digital their but had a standard bobber style fuel cap gauge as well.

Dealer says Pro/assault/sks LE only (snowchecked) show a part number in the tank for the electronic fuel gauge reader... Cant believe it would be there and not hooked up; waste of weight and money on their end! I'm going to send a mirror and light into my tank tomorrow and see if I have one. Will update.

Never checked but will now. I have the standard gauge not the IDD.

Please share your findings.

Looking into the tank I could only see a wire branching into 2 wires which looked like it belonged to the fuel pump or something.

Agreed, I don't think the electronic gauges are very accurate, nor did I expect an electric fuel gauge with this sled.

However, if the owners manual says the standard interment cluster should have an electronic fuel gauge, I'm going to see if I can get one or get mine fixed if it's not working.

my '07 Switchback 144" had an electric gauge... not sure why they got away from it.

I replace the bobber fuel gauge with an oil cap, prevents leaking when the sled is rolled over. It would be nice to just have an electronic one for a general reference...

The Arctic cat sleds always run out of gas first anyways! :face-icon-small-win That usually means I have a 1/4 tank left.

Flipped through modes last night and didn't see one.
I will look in the manual though because I'm not sure what it will look like or what screen it is on.

Well mine will need to go back then. I just started it. Upon initial start everything lights up and then it says EEHR or what ever and Fuel underneath the EEHR code.

Then the gauge quickly goes to normal RPM and temp. Switched through all the modes and not fuel gauge. Worse than that the dam bright switch doesn't turn brights on no matter if I rev it up to 4000 RPM. I had this happen before and my dealer told me the RPM needs to be higher than idle. So I tried it and sure enough they worked. Well now they don't again. Weird.

EEHR is the ethanol fuel map I believe. If you lock the brake and hit mode it switches to 91 Oct. First time I started, I noticed my high beams did not work, but that little rev turned them on; kind of a weird system I don't understand why it is needed, maybe easier on the voltage regulator?

Anyway, everyone can now see there is clearly a fuel gauge meter on the right part of the display according to the Manual for the STANDARD display (not IDD).

The question still remaining...

1. Are the manuals miss-printed?
or
2. Is there a wiring problem with some sleds?

Going to call a few dealers and ask for their help on confirmation if these electronic fuel gauges exist. Apparently me calling Polaris customer service and asking for a tech is only reserved for the dealers..... :face-icon-small-fro

Keep us updated.

Dealer talked to Polaris and just called back this morning.

The Pro/Assault/SKS with the standard interment cluster should NOT have an electronic fuel gauge; although if you purchase a sender unit for the fuel tank, the gauge will support display.

This is a typo in our manuals that was only intended for the trail sleds.

If you have a Pro/Assault/SKS with a IDD gauge, you will get both electronic fuel gauge and tank float gauge. This is why a parts diagram shows a part number in the tank for LE models (snowchecks) to show the sender unit.
