Do I need a longer shock with Holz front end?

I installed the holz a-arm kit on my 07 Rev this past weekend to replace a bent stock lower. Easy enough install great kit, but the shock mounts are 1" or so out from the stock location which in turns decreases the angle of my which shock/spring mount.

Which resulted in lowering of my entire front end. The lower arm is almost parallel to the ground now. It seems like I've lost a bit of travel. I'll post as picture as soon as I get a chance to take one, but it just appears off from all the front suspension geometry I see on most mountain sleds.

Maybe I'm totally off basis and wrong, and better off this way, but I'm seeing myself getting the front end stuck a lot in the near future unless I can get it back up away from the ground again.

longer shocks will get the ground clearance back to what it should be. i used the stock shocks with this kit, and never had any trouble even though the nose was lower.

Hmm, thanks for the response. I'll try riding it like this for a bit but it really feels foreign to how it rid before with the stock arms. It almost feels like I have my sway bar back on in some regards.

With that said does anybody have any recommindations for a good mountain/powder shock that will be a bit longer then stock? Something that's really gonna help loosen up the front end.

I have a set of 18" Exit shocks that are like new. Piggyback res. with triple rate springs. The valving on these is soft and plush at the beginning of the stroke with a stiffer progression through the rest of the travel. This allows the shocks to really soak up the small stuff without bottoming out on the big hits. The 18" length will get the ground clearance you want, and take advantage of the longer travel offered by the Holz A-arms. They sell for 850.00 new, asking for 350.00 plus shipping.
