Do they still get there monthly goverment checks? I think the 1/64 is a federal standard through the BIA, or at least it used to be. Doesn't surprise me though, seems the way now.
He!!, if that's the case I should join one of the federally recognized tribes, get a montly check, free house, and not have to pay taxes. I could then could get share of the casino money as well.........man, I'm doing it all wrong.
The members in my old area do. Now I don't want to sound like I'm down on the natives...but did anyone read a Playboy article on the Seminoles? Basically they are each, man, woman and child cleaning 10gs a month on casino money. Yet they still put in for and recieve government low income housing!
That's 120 grand a year tax free!!! Makes ya wonder, and FL is getting mad over it. I hope they do something because it is a crooked system in many ways.Like I said, I don't hate indians, hell I had some good friends from the rez growing up. I just hate the politics that they have going, etc.
