DIY LOW PROFILE SEAT

Started with a stock seat now its 3" lower and 1.5" narrower

What was the trick to recovering it? How does it feel?

Here are some more pics, just use the stock cover and cut off the access. The seat still feels the same to me.

I am really impressed. I would be affraid to take my seat apart and screw it all up. reupholstring it would be my biggest concern and making it look good.good job

I did that with my 12' seat, used a electric carving knife and a belt sander to smooth it out

I used a hacksaw to make the cuts. the hardest part was smoothing it back out. you have to be real careful with the grinder. doesn't take hardly any pressure at all. I tried sand paper but that would take hours. I have never recovered anything before and that was the step I was worried about, but it turned out to be one of the easiest steps. Hope this helps others.

Man U all should just go get am old XLT. Seat's plenty low on them!
That's the best thing about the sleds the last 5 years, nice tall seat so your knees aren't in your chest when you're sitting. Or do you ride the trail in 10 mi standing up side hilling the bank?? Haha
If ya can't get your leg over the seat lift your leg a little higher!

Jk. I ported a few tracks too. Best result was on my kids 380 though. Let it spin!

Shaping foam is a PITA, but once you find the right tool combo it sure is fun to be able to make custom modded out seats!

belt sander .. not sand paper

belt sander 21"x3" smooths everything out nice and even
