Distance between chain and track ?

I have my MH installed and it looks like my chain may be too long.

How far away should the chain be from the track. I'm considering if I need a 14t counter shaft or maybe a longer strut shaft ?

My track is only about 1/4 inch away from the track, will this be ok or will it rub at some point ?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Your chain will probably stretch once you start riding, so I'd say that yes, it will probably start rubbing on the track after you adjust the tensioner. Switching to a larger counter-shaft sprocket is a good idea to take up the slack. Gearing up is something you'll probably like anyway. When I ran a 13T sprocket I felt like first gear was way too slow for anything but loading and fifth gear wasn't nearly tall enough for riding down the trail.

thanks for the quick reply

I'll be going on my first ride today and will drop back in the 14t before heading out. I'm the first in my group to have one so not much to compare with.
