Since Oct 1 Dish has had a different channel on 136, not FX

I called today & they say they are "negotiating" with the network.

If I miss one single episode of Sons Of Anarchy, that will be the straw that broke the camels back.
I am so sick and tired of Dish & all their people who can't speak without some oilhead accent.
Dumbasses!

If I get riled up I'll let you know how I really feel!!!

FOR SALE:
3 standard Dish Network receivers
1 DVR receiver
1 Dish........Cancel that, I'll use it for target practice!

Easy dog. Don't blow a nut.
Keep baying it may help. In the mean time switch to DTV.

I love dish network but first no MLB network and now no FX...this is might be too much. If I miss a single episode of It's always sunny in philadelphia....bad things might happen

You guy's need to get out of the house more often and not worry so much about the smaller things in life.

Dish CEO defiant after losing Fox channels

Analyst questions company's stance in tough market

NEW YORK -- Dish Network CEO Charlie Ergen in an online video message Tuesday defended the satellite TV company's decision not to immediately sign a new carriage deal with News Corp./Fox for 19 regional sports channels, FX and National Geographic.

The previous arrangement between the two companies expired last week, and Dish subscribers lost the networks as of Friday.

"Nowadays, big programmers like Fox want you to pay extra to watch sports and they want you to pay even more to watch their particular channel," Ergen said in his video message to subscribers. "It would be easy for us to cave in to Fox's demands," but it would lead to fewer programming choices and higher prices, he argued.

But BTIG analyst Richard Greenfield questioned Ergen's defiance in a note to investors entitled "Lesson #1: Only Start A War You Have A Chance At Winning," arguing that the missing programming, particularly on the sports side, may just add to Dish's challenges.

"Dish is already struggling to add subscribers due to the weak economy and growing competition in a mature video business," Greenfield said in a blog post on Tuesday.

"While we acknowledge this battle will only really impact subscriber losses at Dish if it drags on for a minimum of 2-3 weeks, Charlie Ergen does not look like someone about to give up ... If this drags into November with Dish losing broadcast network programming, it could be a
meaningful near-term positive for DirecTV and cable competitors -- as customers will eventually begin to switch."

After all, Dish users may lose the ability to watch NFL Sunday afternoon games and games 5-7 of the World Series, if they take place, in cities where Fox has a station.

With Fox and Dish also facing the end of their current arrangement for Fox's owned-and-operated TV stations at the end of the month, the analyst argued that waiting to renew both arrangements in several weeks makes no business sense.

"What's the benefit of going dark for four weeks and losing subs, only to ultimately pay Fox what they are demanding," he asked. "We can only presume [Ergen] is prepared to be dark for the long-haul."

A Dish spokeswoman said in a response that programmers "are increasingly bullying pay TV companies into extraordinary rate increases in an effort to pay for expensive sports acquisition rights."

She said the Fox sports channels represent less than 2% of the content that Dish makes available in its most popular programming package. And of the hours that Dish customers spend on watching TV, less than 1% are spent on regional sports networks, she added.

I am with ya. The only night I am home is tonight. WTF.
Called dish, rep said just what christopher said, but had no accent, lol. They gave me a $3 credit on my bill and told me I could download the sons episode on I-tunes tomorrow for $2. He claims they hope to have it resolved by weeks end. They better or we need a new classified section. The wife thinks I have some serious problems.

Exactly!

Sons is really the only show that I don't want to miss.
NFL, NASCAR etc I'll watch if I can, but SOA is a must see.

Oh, and for those suggesting I have no life because I do not want to miss Sons...........you guys may want to look in the mirror and see who's wasting their life on SNOWEST!!!!

Im pizzed at Dish right now anyway...Just a heads up,

(FREE HD for life) if you already had dish prior they sneak in a 9.95 additional channel package up in the 200's. It was like 7 or 8 channels I didnt even know I had. I found out when I called to complain that I am still paying the additional 9.95 for HD channels and wanted to know why. The guys like "no your not" and I said well my bill sure hasnt went down. Then he tells me, "we took the liberty to UPGRADE your account". Sneaky bastages! Then,

(eqpt. maintenence) 6.50 a month, I see this on my bill. I call them and they say "if your eqpt. breaks down it will be repaired at n/c" I ask them well if its going to cost me and I am beyond my obligation date of my contract i will just switch. Than I ask, "who authorized this" answer, "we took the liberty of upgrading your account". Sneaky again!

I have found if you do not scutinize every month with them you will find yourself 6 months down the road and have already paid a bunch of b/s fees. They are underhanded in there business practices.

You guy's need to get out of the house more often and not worry so much about the smaller things in life.

You are just jealous you don't have TV in Troy!!!

In all seriousness the wife and I have cut back tv usage dramatically and are strongly considering dropping the cable as well. But nothing helps when 2 out of 3 kids are sick like the Disney channel.

I just paid my Dish bill a few moments ago.
Damn bill is over $100 a month.
You would think with that kind of cash flow they could ensure we get our channels delivered!

Don't blow a gasket..you'll get exhaust in your coolant.

DirecTV lost Versus last year. I wasn't happy with that...but all of a sudden this summer it showed up again.

Getting cable installed next week.

As soon as that happens....I can't wait to call Dish & tell them to go to Hell!

Of course I won't, because the person stuck answering the phone is NOT the problem.
Any chance I could talk to Charlie Ergen himself?

I am no longer a Dish Customer!!!!!

The only thing that sucks is learning all of the channel #'s again.
Happy to be done with Dish!!!!!!!
