Direction for cold start issue - 2000 600 Touring

I picked up a 2000 Polaris 600 touring last year that has some serious cold start issues.

Here is what happens on a cold start:

-Sled starts up and idles really low. I then have to keep flipping the chock on & off for 5-10 minutes before the sled will keep running by itself. If I don't do this it will die. I also don't want to touch the throttle at all since this will kill it as well. If I do use throttle she eventually loads up and I can get a backfire. I've done the simple stuff like plugs, new gas, idle adustment to no avail.

-Could it simply be clogged pilot jets or air screws that are massively out of adjustment? Perhaps jetted for wrong elevation? The sled runs beautiful with lots of power when warmed up and cold compression is 120PSI in both cylinders. I typically run in the 2500-3500 foot elevation.

I've never rebuilt or re-jetted a carb before but certainly have no issues learning. I have a factory service manual as well. Just curious what everyone's gut feeling is on this one. Sled has about 1700 miles.

Treacherous

I would adjust the idle up and then maybe adjust the air screws too.
If that does not work it could be the pilots.
