Difference in M8 from 2009 to 2010

The Motor. '10 is the HO and makes more power. Beyond that, not much. Some more underhood heat shields.

2010 - buy 1.

I ride a 2009 M8 162. My 14yr old son is on a 153 2010 M8. I tried climbing a large hill at Top of the World Wyoming last weekend and made it almost to the top and had to side hill out of the climb and crest the top to make it. Rode to the bottom and climbed onto the 153 2010 and motored right over the top, couldn't believe the difference.

2010 has a really good motor that gets stronger and stronger as it breaks in. I was impressed from the first ride, and was was really happy after hitting 300 miles or so....It pulls hard.

There will be a few more pipe options next year, and hopefully some better single pipe packages. I am interested to see what JAWS comes up with for twin pipes, I know they can be finicky on these laydown motors, but it will be cool to see how this motor reacts with twins.

I have to say mod for mod the 2010 is the way to go, there might not be a ton of stuff on the market yet for motor mods, but by next year I think we will see more and more power adders to make this thing even more wicked than it already is.

If i am buying a new sled, I am going to naturally gravitate to the new more powerful motor, just makes sense as this 800 is the motor of the future for the M8. This motor had plenty of testing on it before we the consumers got it, and I must say so far so good.

The 10 can be a trencher.........I highly suggest getting the Fox Racing Chris Burandt suspension upgrade for your rear shocks......Money well spent if you want a sled that pops up on the pow and handles the groomed trails back to the truck like a dream.
