Difference between MCX260 and 310 kit for apex

Boost and fuel. 310 will require some added octane and a different clutch set up of course.
Cheers

To my knowledge, the 260 kit is older, runs and in tank fuel pump, and the smaller 16t turbo. The 290 horse kits which were newer had better fuel management and auto elevation compensation with a 19t turbo. The 310+ kits had a aftermarket fuel pump installed, that's what my sled has, however it was a older 310 kit which ran the 16t turbo and manual boost controller. Newer ones are a 19t turbo.

Octane wise my 310 apex I run 94 octane and hit 18-19# no detonation at like 5500+ feet. All their kits utilize a head shim.

In the original form the 310 kit had the elevation compensation as well. I think it came out in 2007. The big drawback of the 310 kit is you are way off the compressor map for the 16T. It is way past its point of efficiency and as a result it makes a ton of heat resulting in cracked headers etc. The 290 kit with the 19T is a way better setup. If I had one of those I would be inclined to get a 260 map for it or find a 19T and get the 290 programming which is what I ran in my Nypex. I have a friend who parts Yamaha sleds he has several MCX kits lying around, he may have a 19T.
