Diesel snowmobiles

I am scratching my head now thinking of how to put a hydrostatic drive in, i don't think you would ever get one into a normal chassis but it could be done with a custom chassis, engine, and drive. It would be very reliable but it would have to be a workhorse machine because it would be way to heavy for anything else, but what the hell there is a market for that too, i think we will see it sometime in the future but i know i won't be running to get one. interesting though!!!

OMGeeeeee. LOL.

This stuff's too funny.

That sled from Finland....  :D :D I started cracking up, as he was driving by in the mad-bomber hat.

hahahaha.

I love goofy built toys like these. Always something to tinker with, and mess around with.

Reminds me of a lawnmower I got to run on Nitromethane when I was about 12. Hahahahaaha.

It did...I wonder if the waste gate was holding it back.

Well, actually it doesn't have a waste gate... Just the built-in vnt-actuator for adjusting the exhaust turbine chamber flow. In general, getting boost pressure up would probably give more power, but also kill the cylinder head gasket in a minute. But the whole exhaust system is leaking badly, and tuning the engine was tricky/smelly. I hope the new gaskets for exhaust will help next time, and next I can put even the hood back on. Snow could be nice also :D

Engine mounting is pretty simple, I just used the old aluminium engine plate, some steel beam and few bolts and nuts. The package is getting pretty heavy, and I ain't sure how long the original rubber brackets will hold. So far looking good, last winter the sled fell on other side but nothing was broken. Just some oil tried to sneak out through breathing pipe. :o
