Just bought a new dodge 2500, 6.7l cummins. Looking at mod's. Want the option for more power, but also better mileage. What is the best bang for the buck?

BADP gen2 DPF delete, S&B intake, EGR block off, Edge juice/att

awesome cummins site, everything you need to know and then some.

As for options, I would say a chip that only plugs into your fuel rail. That way you won't see the codes from advancing your timing. You should see a 3-4 mpg increase w/ the added fuel pressure. Be sure you only run good fuel filters!!! 5 micron absolute minimum, 3 micron would be better.

x4 on the DPF delete, EGR block, etc.

FYI - If you plan to trade it in within a few years be careful of what emissions mods you do. When I traded in last week I had to sign a statement that I had not altered any "emissions" equipment. This could get expensive if you throw away all the emissions stuff and have to put it back on.

I've done the S&B cold air intake, H&S DPF delete and a Bully Dog Power pup program and Magnaflo stainless 5", no muff out. Gettin about 24mpg and loads of power, 17mpg before. EGT's lowered when pulling.
My dealer here actually suggested I do the delete. They had lots of problems with the DPF system in cold weather. High idle it plugs up then you gotta drive the piss out of it for 45min to clean it.
All the DPF stuff I have put away for resale or trade in. 1hr and it's back to stock.

I've done several trucks for buddies and customers and my advice always starts with the tranny. You can make all the hp you want but start with the trans. That's your link to getting it to the ground. Build a solid trans first and then you can go nutz with the hp with no probs and no power loss to the wheels. Make sense?

More BOOST (bigger turbo) exhaust, chip, intake.

If your putting a bigger turbo on it and need more than the factory turbos 32-35lbs of boost...I would be thinking about some tranny work first. torque conveter and valvebody at minimum, or clutch for the g56 guys.youll be able to lay down more power even in stock(engine) form with an auto upgrade.the stock g56 will hold decent power ( 400rwhp) and still tow without any issues.
