I heard on the king 5 news last night that the cops were writing tickets for an unsecured load if you don't clean off the snow on your car or truck. I'm not sure what the fine is but it's a "misdemeanour" on your record. Does that sound right to you?

Technically, yes. No doubt it's been written.. never seen it.
Would imagine it's reserved for the person who has clearly created a negligent situation. i.e. one where a prudent person should have known they were causing a dangerous condition. Foot of frozedn ice/snow on top of one of our trailers, which would/could come off in big chunks?? Can't really see it being used for a few inches of snow on top of the cab. But, gives us all something to think about.

well their is a limit here guys.....if their snow on your trailer their not gonna write you up, up here in CANADA EH you get fined as well if you dont clean the snow off your vehicle, usually meaning if you still have a foot of snow on your hood and your driving around hoping the wind will blow it off you will get a fine or if your back window is full of snow(no worry on trucks)
it is a stupid law for us people that know what the **** were doing, but when half our populationn is immigrants they dont know how to drive so we have to make up these stupid laws for them to be safe!

Have you seen what happens when all the snow and ice flies off in one big sheet at 60 mph on the freeway? It can do some damage to others cars.
How about seeing through the windows? I have seen idiots with a small cleared spot on the windshield only and cannot see anything.
If people are not being responsible by clearing the debris off their cars, they should get a ticket. It is the only responsible thing as a driver.
I am sure everyone on here would chase someone down if stuff from their car did damage to their rig.

Agreed! But how many have left the 6 inches of fluff on the roof or on the trailor? I have but won't do it again.
I hate when you get cut of by some guy going down 99, his windows are covered and not even de-fogged yet!!! And then precedes to do 9 mph in the left lane cause he scared to drive in the snow!!!!!

I have been hit by a huge sheet of ice and snow on the freeway it came of the car in front of me and landed square on my windshield, it covered the whole window and I thought the windshield was going to shatter, scared the crap out of me. it was crazy because it stayed in one square piece flipping through the air until it smashed on my windshield. Wipe the snow off your cars and trucks, nobody cares how much it snowed at your house.

i got to work and had a broken grill and headlight bezel...300$ later.
that was some bulls**t.
could of bought something cool with that$

That wouldn't go on the record as a midemeanor. It would be a traffic offense like speeding. If it were a misd I think you could spend the night in you're local friendly county jail for that.
