Did Sixmile yesterday...

six mile rocks

I too did six mile yesterday, but with chugach outdoor center. it was killer, especially when the boat flipped and everybody was in the water. nothing like floating almost all of canyon 3 without the boat or guide. life flashed before my eyes.

Dang AKpow those are awesome pictures. That is sweet that they were able to get picutes of it.
Do you know which hole it was that you flipped on?
God I can't wait to go agian. I'm going to round up another group and do it again ASAP.

Stew...you in?:D

To tell you the truth Im a little scared, haha. I hear from some friends that its intense though for sure.

Intense is a good way to descibe it. i think it was zig-zag or merry-go-round. which ever it was it was close to the beginning of the 3rd canyon. i ended up do most of it in the water. a little scary, thats for sure. i was the last person to get to shore or back to the boat.

I was scared too, and now after doing it once....I'm still scared! LMAO.

AKpow that looks more like zig-zag than merry-go-round, but either one woulda been a wild ride. Looks like you guys got pushed under pretty good.

I brought a helmet cam, but I couldnt figure out how to fix it to the helmet or carry the recorder and the guides were getting ready really quickly so I didnt bring it. Next time I'll be more prepared, I think that would make an awesome video.

Who's up for this Saturday or Sunday?

Wow, I had no idea that so many people went swimming! Awesome pictures!
I was not merry-go-round (huge pointy rock protruding from right about 2 ft above water, we had to go on left side of it and take sharp right).
I might be up for it again. I will try to call some friends of mine as well but I will show them the swimming photos for sure, hahahaha. Here are some of mine pix. First they make everybody jump in water (3rd pic) and swim across the river, quite a long ways. Then they try to keep you in a boat, and on the end they encourage you to jump into water again (it loaded as first pic) and float the rest of a trip to the bus. What a blast!

Here's a couple pics that NOVA took of our run last Sunday.

Just reserved 7 seats for this coming weekend. Chugach shuts the guides down when the river is 11' or more, and its 10.6 feet today. Predicted to be 10.8 or 10.9 by the weekend. Should be sweet. :D
