Did anyone buy a '10 D8?

Looking to buy a D8, the dealership has a couple of 09's left over, but I think I want to avoid them because of the update issues. I am just curious if the '10's are having the same issues since they are running the same set up as the updates. I actually want a 700 w/ a 163 inch track.

I have a '10 D8 155 and put on a SLP intake and full exhaust before riding it and mine has a midrange stumble. Almost 200 miles on it so far, tried changing plugs for the heck of it but no change in how it runs. Seems to get a lot worse below 1/4 tank of fuel. Going to put the stock exh back on and see how it runs before taking it back to dealer. Sled seems to be fast and I love the ride, but mine definately has the dreaded stumble.

2010 d8 155

I just got a 2010 this year and it runs awesome. No hiccups, no midrange stumble, no nothing. My only mods are V force reeds and an SLP can. My dealer told me that the SLP single pipe would void the warranty. Hope this helps.

I have a 2010 800 rmk 155, I absolutely love this thing, coming of a 2003 edge. None of the dreaded stumbles, stutters or det light talked so much about on here. Dealer said put in fresh 87 octane gas with ves 2 in tank, broke it in with that, wires unplugged. Pulled 8100 rpm first 40 miles now with just 80 miles pulls 8250 rpm completely stock on 87 octane. Cant wait to put in some 91 octane and wires plugged in. I too believe that those having problems with this 800 must be set up wrong. I Have four buddies that bought 09 800 sleds from this dealer with no motor issues, all are happy campers. Find a good dealer, and you wont look back!

WTF do voltage regulators and ECU programming have to do with setup? It's how Polaris built the sled, not the setup.

Go for the 700. ITs bulletproof (hopefully), and you won't have to worry about the when and if it develops stumbles, won't pull rpms, or the whole thing burns down. Lifes too short to worry while trying to have fun, I spent alot of time doing this while riding my 900, and I'm glad to be rid of that thing. Lighten up the 7 a little, throw on an slp single and some other goodies, and go have fun. To get a 163 however, you either need to look for an 08 D7, or get an 09-10 and do a track/rail swap. Just my 2 pennies. P.S. my voltage reg in my 09 was one of the bad ones, got that fixed, so nothing is actually bombproof, but better not to start out with a questionable unit.

Got rid of my 09 and went with a 2010 163, seems to run strong. had v-force reeds and air-box mod and slp single on the 09. The 09 rocked until the update kit was done, did not seem the same after that. Gonna do just a slp single pipe on my 2010. I talked with Carls Cycle and they are all running a slp single and no v-force reeds on the 2010s.
