diamound s vs skinz hoods

i want to purchase a mesh hood for my m1000 and don't know whitch one to buy.
the diamound s hood looks like it would breath better than the skinz hood.
but i think the skinz hood looks better and you can close the vents on it from what i can see in the picture.
any input on both these brands would be great.

Diamond S

I have a diamond s hood and I really like it. I did have to do some minor modifications so snow would not come in through the nose of the sled. You might also consider R&M Lightning's mesh hood, one of my buddies has one and it's pretty slick. Good Luck.

Venting is going to be the same between the diamond s and the skinz. When you pull the extra vents off the skinz it opens it right up.

If i was you i would get whichever one you can get for less money. They are pretty much the same.

just some info from someone who has used both the Diamond S and now an R&M stealth hood....the R&M hood fits infintly better than the Diamond S that I had. That being said I dont think that the R&M will withstand the same punnishment that the Diamond S will.

i have a diamond s wanna buy it i want a skins at least it comes with hinges and is complete the diamond s you have to build im not happy to say the least with my hood

I think you meant the R&M won't withstand the punishment the Diamond S will. At least that is what I have heard from several people.

I am leaniing towards a Skinz myself. Has a spot for gauges, lights uses the oem hinges and you can get the optional windshield.

My buddy bought a skinz hood and he said it isn't nearly as strong as his ds he had on his king kat. It broke on the first roll in powder. We had to weld in some gussets.

I vote Diamond S Used one one for years. I personally like my hood without hinges, I think it's better just lift off and get out of the way.

I just bought a New Skinz hood off snowest and good old UPS smashed the shi+ out of the box and bent the frame for the hood I tried to bend it back very easily but a weld broke. I strated looking at the weld and their was no penitration at all, looks like I will need to get the old TIG out and fix up my new $400 hood, i wonder what will happen when i tip the sled over.....?

X2. I also like to pull the hood off and throw it to the side before I have to usually start rolling my sled over multiple times to get past the three trees I somehow ended up nose up in a treewell stuck.
