Just curious on a couple things here...

1. How do the hoods handle being rolled? not many hoods handle it well but does the frame hold up?

2. Secondly how do you run with no pod and headlights? On the cats if they aren't plugged in it won't start.... Because the pod they supply looks pretty damn ugly!!! has anybody flanged up there own pod assembly?

3. Freeze ups? does anybody find that the mesh gets iced up on deep pow days anyways or does it stay fairly clear.

4. Does anybody have problems getting excess snow under the hood through the mesh on deep pow days?

Any pics of these hoods on M series sleds or any other sled for that fact are welcome to post.

I am thinking bout buying one... not sure if its 100% the best thing to do at this point.

Thanks,
Ryan

1). Excellent, I've roller my sled many times, mostly when stuck, easy way to get unstuck and never an issue with the hood. They are made very strong.

2). No lights on mine and it starts......07 1000 m, 900 cat, the hoods are made for quick release, so are you sure?

3) I've never had any issues, stays very clean.

4) I've never had any probs with snow getting in.

they are tough

get guage bracket from timbersled that mounts on handle bars and mount one large or two small 55 w headlights on the underside of guage bracket, nothing mounts on hood then..throw diamonds pod in garbage

3. Freeze ups? does anybody find that the mesh gets iced up on deep pow days anyways or does it stay fairly clear.

not a chance..it stays clear

4. Does anybody have problems getting excess snow under the hood through the mesh on deep pow days?

nope...you just have to seal the very front...i use pipe insulating foam friction fit...its cheap and can carry a few spare lengths

i will try qhen time but i had pic on..try search function mesh hoods or search my post history

it is the best thing...you just have to work with the fit and mounting...it saves alot of belt issues..

Thanks,
Ryan

1. holds up to rolling MUCH better than stock hoods
2. no headlight on my 07 M1000 but I do run a power resistor. I wanted my tach to watch rpm's so I came up with the setup in the pics
3. it's amazing how the snow slides off. The engine heat exiting does a pretty good job keeping it from icing up. again... much better than stock hood
4. no problem with snow entering through the mesh

Hey Ryan you will not regret! Concerning the headlight issue, I use a lead dog helmet light, I think it works better than the factory head light. If you should get Scott on the phone don't bring up pod headlight questions. He might hang up. If you cannot reach him pm me. Also putting the gauge on the bars works real good.

1. Handles rolls very well, rolled mine many times.
2. I made a bracket and mounted mine to the riser.
3. Some freeze up, but falls off easy.
4. No snow under hood if you spend some time to properly secure and seal it.

I would say this is one of the best mods to an M sled. Runs cooler, belt lasts longer, and the intake does not plug up like the stock one.

Made some pieces to fill the gaps shown and also in the nose. Guage holder is diamond plate. (Made a new one out of Carbon fiber that will also mount egt's and A/F guage.)

I got lights from NAPA and put them in the shock towers.(6-go's idea:)) Also made a extended exhaust deflector.

Old pics but hope this helps.
