Diamond Drive Service on 2009?

Are there any fundamental differences in removing the 2009 dd compared to earlier versions?

I am in the process of servicing the drive on my 2009 M8 and it does not want to come out of the sled. I have the 8 nuts holding the dd, the guard in the footwell, and the bolt inside the drive shaft removed.

I serviced my M7 a couple times and did not have difficulty removing the drive. Just thought I'd check for someone with experience removing the 2009's before I proceed to make this more of a challenge than it needs to be. Thanks.

the bigger case doesn't leave much room to get it out, I pulled mine but don't think I will do it again, and it takes 15 ozs of oil

Got it, thanks. It is definitely a tight fit. Drained out almost 16 oz of fluid. Dealer sold me 12 oz to put back in. So, I'll get another bottle to fill it up...didn't check the fluid level after 12 oz. so maybe 12 fills it up?

Has anyone checked theirs with only 12 oz.?

how often should you change the dd oil i have 614 miles on my 09 m8

Just a heads up , Arctic cat used a smaller bearing (not as wide) on the lower gear and installed a spacer to fill the void:confused:, If you are doing preventative maintenace, I would update this bearing to the old style. I am not sure if this smaller bearing was required on the reverse models (mechanical), but my 09 accept's the wider bearing. Black Diamond says this is a weak point....Garry
