1) Check engine light flashes 5 times. Is this a big deal? Just buy a new Exhaust temp sensor? 2) It has developed a squeal that sounds to be coming from the clutch area at an idle. Give it a little throttle and it goes right away. Did not do this before I had my clutch removed to install SLP torque arm. I do not like the sound of it at all and would appreciate any info on how to fix it. 3) Intermittent speedometer. Sometimes it works but mostly it reads 0. Really not sure if it is even reading right when it is working. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i had the same speedo issue last year on my pro. thought it was the sensor. turned out to just be the connection. check your connection before anything, then the ground and if that isn't it take it to your dealer to have your pickup replaced. more than likely as soon as you back your belt deflection off an RCH your squeal will go away.

Backed the belt deflection off as it was way too tight. Guess I should check that next time before just slapping the belt on there in a rush to ride.:noidea: Also cleaned the electrical connections and the speedo works more often now. Guess I still have some cleaning to do. Still squeals slightly at idle but nowhere near as often or as loud. Still have the 5 blinks of the check engine light. Does anyone know if a new exhaust temp sensor will fix this?? Thanks for the help guys it is greatly appreciated:face-icon-small-ton

is your belt clean?? it MUST BE CLEANED GOOD!!

you might have the clutch shimmed for a different belt as well...stock is shimmed for the 080 belt, but you may have switched to the 115, or the 111..they are all different widths and the clutch MUST be shimmed for that belt..

clean the speedo housing connection by the secodary, and pull the sensor out and clean it and put in new fresh grease.

the check in light IS a HUGE deal, your sled will go into limp mode with ANY flash code and not run right....check the sensor wiring for fraying (it will rub the hood if you have a stock pipe)...if nothing looks wrong, make sure the bullet connectors by the MAG side ex. valves are plugged in and clean as well. ;)

Had the same problem with my speedo last year. I cleaned it and filled it with new grease and it has worked fine since then.

You can check the resistance on your exhaust temperature sensor. The spec says 2.3Mohms @ 392F and 76 Ohms at 1652F. The manual says difficult to measure lower than 392F. I just went out and put the meter on mine. One came in at 7M Ohms and the other at 5M Ohms. They are sitting in an unheated MN garage...about 40 F right now. The key is it should be higher than 2.3M ohms and start to go down if you pass warm air over the sensor. A reading of zero or infinity is bad.

Clutch was just off, cleaned, balanced and shimmed for the 115 belts. Belt is new and has now stopped squealing. Hopefully it is ok. As for speedo. Already a new sensor and pickup has been cleaned of old grease. Was not working at all over the summer. Installed a used MFD and now it works now and then. Works better now after cleaning connections but I think I have some more cleaning to do. As for the sensor will have to check that out. Thanks for the help. Glad you guys are on here to offer your knowledge.:face-icon-small-coo

Some poele like a bit of squeal at idle. at least you know your clearence is as close as it can be.As along as it doesnt "creep" ( move the sled ) you can live with it but I cant stand it either .

As soon as I heard it for the first time all I though was whats wrong with the motor! :faint:Had me worried. Just glad that it was the belt
