I am getting calls for rentals everyday now. I know there is not enough snow to safely send them off trail, but what is it like at the trail heads and can I send them out for road riding only? If you have ridden any of the following areas, please let me know what you think.

Soapstone
Knobletts
Strawberry/Daniels area
Area 51 (Boss?)

Thanks in advance y'all,

BTW, who was the lucky one who bought a rental certificate for $50?

Next time I am going to go and bid it up to at least $100!:face-icon-small-win

We need more snow for sure Adam. But Lake Creek to Current Creek Res is all good for a road ride. The parking lot at Lake is still closed but you can head up and park about a 1/4 to 1/2 a mile from the parking lot. The road to wolf creek is also good to go from lake creek.

Some of the Area's along the way look tempting but unless you are very familiar with them then I would stay on the trail for a few more storms..

I'm sure you already know about this but if not, on the commuterlink website (http://commuterlink.utah.gov/) they have a camera about 1 mile down from the nobletts parking lot looking east.

On this site (http://commuterlink.utah.gov/CLALertViewer.aspx?CLType=3) it says that wolf creek and mirror lake are closed. FWIW on friday it said they were both open.

Im trying to plan a ride this weekend up Nobblets area. If anyone goes up that way, please report. Just want to do a road ride. Thanks.

Sorry to hijack!

It's hard to sell a sled rental to the most hardcore of sledders!!! I wish i needed that rental cert, what a good dang deal.

Thanks for donating that adam.

Parked just past the parking lot by timber lakes and road the forest service roads. It was all good on the roads off trail didn't brave that one. The wind has really moved the snow around but I would guess about 20 inches has fallen up high. I going to drive to the top of wolf creek over the next couple of days and go towards soap stone for a little road ride.:plane:

Adam has a skidoo with "minor" front end damage I bet he would sell cheap :)

Mill Hollow on 11/23/11

Rode from the Mill Hollow turnoff (up past Knobletts parking lot) to Yellow Lake area
and up to Tower, we primarily trailed but broke off in a few clearings but could feel some rocks and debri. Approximately 20" but no real base.Need a few more storms.

Wolf Creek

Adam I'd wait. Having been in the same position before I understand your dilema but give it one more storm.

parked at the pass today and went out to the ridge and headed toward Tower. Pretty much the same 20" - 24" no base. Found some wind protected drainages with 24" - 30", decent for a first ride.
