Hey guys question for you. When I ride my sled down the road it runs good up to 8300 RPM sounds great. I then take it out in the deep snow I got a DET light. I shut it off and started it back up the light was gone. When I got the light it sounded like when I was a kid and put a car in the spokes of my bike. Could it be a power valve stuck? I have run it about 40 mile the first rid, then I had it out with the kids pulling them on the sled. I really not sure what to check. Its a 2013 pro rmk 800 with around 900 miles on it. Any ideas for me to look at would be great.

mine hits the det limit occasionally on the road going in usually it is just caused by low or poor octane fuel

I run 91 without ethanol, but it is on the Eth setting just incase we get bad fuel. I do put in 104 plus also.

Are you running the high elevation clutching at low elevations?

Running stock clutch set up from factory. Ran it here and in island park no issues until this year.

Yeah you cant run the stock clutching for low midwest elevations. It revs the motor way too high and usually retards the motor. DET sign will flash. Sometimes you even have to get it reset by the dealer if you run it too hard.

Sorry, I have changed the weights in the clutch it is set for the elevation I live at. I talked with the Polaris dealer I bought it from, he told me to not run the Premium 91 octane. He was telling me that the fuel we are getting is crap and to just put it in Eth mode and run the lower grade fuel. He told me that the fuel is what is causing the issue. Thanks for the input guys ill let you know what happens after I get all the fuel out and put lower octane fresh stuff in.

Thanks again,
