DET Issues after "The Fix"

I'm having DET issues with my 2010 Dragon 800

Work done:
- Fix kit installed
- SLP pipe/can combo
- PAR Head 13.1
- PC5 installed with Stoutners map
- MDS weights about 73grams
- Timbersled air filter

I'm having the same DET issues as people in this thread. Has I go over 6000 rpm the DET light will flicker and if I continue to cruise in this RPM range it will go into limp mode. I can pin it out, it will run a solid 8200 rpm's shifted out with no signs of DET light.

I'm running Shell 91 octane with 16oz of Torco accelerator, which brings it up to 95 octane.

I ran the sled in Yellowstone at Xmas, had the same problems at town elevation, but once I was over about 7500 feet, it seem to go away for the most part.

Back home my elevation is 1900 feet.

Running April 2010 Flash

Any help would be great.

I would say your still lean and/or not enough octane for your setup. What elevation is the head made for?
Pretty sure the Stoutner map was made for stock sleds

Thanks for replying.............I can try that. I'm currently running 73grams in the MDS weights, but I think I can add a little more weight.

Are you see any issues with the fuel maps, like stoutners 163hp map?

Thanks

Jamie

Looking at your avatar, we are in the same location. I live in Regina, Saskatchewan.

x2 on the Stoutner map. That is for a stock sled with only a slp pipe. I have put 6 of the fix-it kits on 2008 2009 and we have set them back to the 2008 first flash and the sleds have been fine with no DET. I have put the SLP flash for their 1-2-3 stage tuning in the power commander box. You could get that from SLP or I could send it to you. If you go to there sight it tells you to reflash your ecm to 4013134, 4013135, and 4013136. I would give Shaun a call he is a great guy and ask what he says to do.

Check the fuel lines in the tank! Cheap and easy thing to do! Mine were crumbled in the bottom of the tank and thats what was causing my DET!

I have tried the SLP map for their stage 1-2-3 setup. I had the same results with their map as stoutner's map. The odd part for me is SLP's map seems generic that it will work on all stage packages they sell. I was thinking they would have a map for changes in heads.

Do you guys think the solution is more around the Polaris ECU flash?

Thanks
Jamie

I have 09 assault that i installed fix kit bmp low elvation heads and pipe and silencer and also a clutch kit by bmp.I'm running pcv and having the same issue will this map work for me if i go back too the 08 oem map.

I was running the fix kit on my 09 d8 with slp pipe/can, 162 stoutner map. I had to go to the 08 flash. Sled flat out ripped with no issues

Did you have DET issues before the reflash in that 6000+ rpm range? I'm assuming your not running a after market head?

DET

I've had two 800 CFI's piped, ported, one w/ a head and one w/ stock head. Neither could run April flash w/o setting off DET unless I through so much fuel in the mid range that the sled became lazy and no fun to drive. Back to the 08/09 flash and sled pulls like a freight train w/ no DET!!!

Are you running a Power Commander? If you are, which maps do you run?

Thanks

DET

No, I'm running a Boondocker box. Point I was making is that I couldn't get my sled to run w/o setting off the DET no matter how much fuel I through at it w/ the April Flash. Went back to the 08/09 flash w/ no other changese and the sled ran/runs like a top!

Wondering about how does one get the original 2008 flash now? I have a 2009 Dragon. Checked at dealer on Digital Wrench, 2009 & 2008 list same flash #4013136 for my machine. That is the flash I have in it now c/w PCV, SLP single and 12.5 PA head. I am not 100% sure, but I do not think that is the correct number for the original 2008 flash. What is the correct number for the 2008 flash?
