Denver Question

I am looking at possibly coming into Denver the first weekend of Nov. The Broncos kickoff is at 2:05 and the Avalanche game starts at 6:00. Is it possible to pull the double header? I assume the football game takes about 3 hours, so we would have about an hour to get over from Mile High to the arena. From Google, it looks like they are almost right beside each other. This it is doable?

Never been to an NFL game, so I would really like to go to both! Any suggestions for good places to stay close by?

:beer;

You can do it! park some where between the two stadiums. You well have to walk from Mile high to Pepsi (lots of traffic). It will take about 1/2 hour to get there. IF you didnt have toooooo many 7 dollar beers!!! :beer;

No problem, they are very close and there is lots of parking. Have fun!!!

there are great hotels downtown Denver, from the Brown Palace (top notch) to La Quinta. Lots and lots to do in "lodo" (lower downtown)

You could probably make the walk, but I wouldn't suggest it. That could be a long walk to the car after the Avs game. The double could be done. It looks like you could take the light rail from one place to the other (one stop apart).

After the games are over the light rail gets crazy full in a hurry with standing room only.

I usually park it the Pepsi Arena lots or Elitch's when going to bronco games. Easy walk for sure.

For a place to stay - the Courtyard is on the 16th street mall and is nice and reasonable. The ladies at the front desk are easy on the eyes as well :)

Thanks for the advice everyone! The lady I have booking everything for me has some contacts with the Mariott chain, so she is trying to get us a deal through there.

Not taking the family, so I appreciate the other suggestions as well. Might just have to check them out!:D

I'll let you know how we make out.

As others have said, it is doable. I myself would park at Elitches, then either taxi or bus to the Broncos game. When you leave Mile High grab a taxi over to the Pepsi Center.

Well, we are booked! Fly in Saturday, Nuggets game Sat night, Bronco's Sunday aft and Avalanche Sunday night. It there much tailgating before the Bronco's game?

Got Shotgun Willies and The diamond on the list. We are staying at the Mariot City center, so are any good bars or restraunts nearby? We also will have time to kill on Monday, so what are the good sites to see?

Starting to get stoked!:D

Nothin' but good bars and restaurants 5 minutes from you location once your downtown. You'll see them and stumble in:face-icon-small-ton................I promise!

Just thought I would say thanks for all the advice! Weekend turned out great. Weather was beautiful. Was super impressed with the city. The downtown is really nice, the arena and stadium are beautiful facilities. Most of all, everyone was outgoing and friendly. Felt just like being at home. You have a city to be proud of for sure.

Oh yeah, every place we went had Crown!:D
