Deluxe Gauge Software Reflash

i have an 09 m series sno pro with the deluxe guage. is there an electronic sensor in the fuel tank that is sending signals to the guage for the gauge to read correctly? confused on how the flash works, to utilize this feature in the gauge, if there is not a electronic sensor in the tank.

very interested in adding the fuel, clock, and coolant temp to my display.

basicly after the reflash we have all the std features of our current guage, AND the addition of the new features? then we just program the guage to what we want to see while riding?

Sorry about the delay in responding, but spoon is correct, your sled needs a fuel sender in order for the fuel gauge to work. Interestingly enough, all Deluxe Gauges have the hardware to show a fuel gauge, but the sender needs to be connected.

And yes, it has all the features of the stock gauge, including many improvements like the data display you mentioned.

Clock will only keep time on the 4 strokes (since they are wired to supply power to the gauge all of the time). That being said, once I have the piggyback done I will be working on a way to use a 9V battery with a diode to make the clock work on any sled.

My testing of the boost and AFR went very well this last weekend. Was quite cool to see 16 to 18 PSI of boost while playing around on a lake. The AFR sensor worked very well too. I was able to watch it bounce around 14.7 when cruising at light throttle, which is an indication that it was nice and accurate.

I also discovered that I don't need to physically make a piggyback controller, as the necessary circuitry is already in place, but unused, in the gauge itself. If you are just showing boost, here is the new version of the piggyback controller (yes, a wire, a pin, and a wire tap is all that is needed):

I will be sourcing the AFR controllers from a 3rd party, and the controller and sensor should cost about $105.

A reflash that is capable of showing boost and AFR will cost $159, and will come with the wire, wire guard, pin, and the instructions to install it. Hood removal is literally optional...

AFR will require the $159 reflash and the $105 AFR sensor (I will supply additional wiring and instructions to install the AFR controller).

To show boost on an 800 you will need to add a $30 MAP sensor.

I'm thinking that around January 13th the version of the reflash that supports boost and AFR will become available. For those who already have a reflash, you can upgrade for the current cost difference between standard version and the one that supports Boost and AFR.

Too cool. Let us know when the full kit is available. Would like full setup for my turbo 1000. Where is map sensor available from and will you supply diagram for full install?

Great idea I'll be mailing mine out as soon as the AF Map sensor are incorporated. Finally just one gauge!! :beer;

The Deluxe Gauge Software Reflash is now available in a version that supports showing Boost and AFR. This version comes with a Boost Kit, which allows you to connect the MAP sensor of your sled to the Deluxe Gauge.

An AFR controller and sensor must be installed to show AFR on the gauge. An AFR Kit will be available in 2 to 3 weeks that includes a Spartan Lambda Controller and LSU 4.2 AFR sensor from 14point7.com. The AFR Kit can be installed anytime after the gauge itself has been reflashed, so you can have your gauge reflashed before the AFR kit is available.

The Standard version of the Deluxe Gauge Software Reflash is priced at $119. The AFR/Boost version is priced at $159, and the AFR Kit will be priced at $105. If you already have purchased the Deluxe Gauge Software Reflash, you can upgrade your gauge to the AFR/Boost version for $40.

When the AFR Kit becomes available the initial quantities will be limited. If you would like to ensure that you get an AFR Kit as soon as possible you can place a $50 deposit on an AFR Kit when you purchase the AFR/Boost version of the reflash.

For additional details on the AFR/Boost version of the Deluxe Gauge Reflash, the AFR Kit, and how to get your gauge reflashed visit the following webpage:

This is possibly the coolest mod I have ever seen.
I had always thought there was untapped resources available from this gauge, and now I know there are.
I'll be ordering my flash update and AFR kit just as quickly as I can.

This thread has to make the Weekly SnowestOnline Digest!!
The word has to get out about this remarkable upgrade!
Congratulations on developing this software!!

izzni, do you know what the little tower above the fuel meter on the dlx gauge is all about?
It almost looks like a signal strength meter or a transmit power gauge.
I'm on my third M sled with the deluxe gauge and I've seen it on all of them and have never know what it was for.

X2.

The signal strength stuff was originally used with the now extinct Cat Comm system. I've repurposed that area for status updates. I modify the circuitry on the board that was used with Cat Comm and instead use it for boost and AFR.

I'm quite happy to say that the modifications to the gauge's circuit board to show AFR and boost have turned out to be much less time consuming than I thought they would be!

As such I'm reducing the price difference between the standard version of the reflash, and the AFR/Boost version of the reflash. The AFR/Boost version is now priced at $159 instead of $199. The folks who've already purchased the AFR/Boost version have been credited for the price reduction of course.

The AFR kit, which includes the wideband oxygen sensor and controller is still priced at $105.

Deposit sent for AFR/Boost on my 12 800 PC!! Shipping the gauge tomorrow excited to get it back even more excited for the AFR. 14point7.com looks like they make some pretty cool products.

I finally got a chance to create a video of some recorded boost and AFR data being played back.

izzni this is an awesome upgrade. I'll be sending my gauge off this week. Will a reflashed gauge from a M8 work on a M1000? Is there any way to bring throttle position into the gauge?

Reflash will work on anything that has or can support a deluxe gauge. If no fuel sensor is present the fuel gauge won't show.

TPS is definitely possibly. I'd need to know the TPS full and closed voltages on your sled, but other than that, it wouldn't be a problem. You'd need the AFR/boost version, and you'd have to trade either AFR or boost for TPS.

If others are interested I coule build in some calibration code so that you wouldn't need to send the voltages in advance.

I'm now in a position where I can do some gauge exchanges for those who cannot be without their gauge during the season (the sleds run fine without them by the way).

To do this you buy the reflash like normal, but also add the $220 Gauge Core Exchange Option. I will ask you for the mileage and hours of your current gauge, reflash a gauge, and mail it to you the next day.

If your gauge is clean and in good condition you simply need to send your original gauge back to me. If your gauge has some damage you will need to take the front cover from your gauge and place it on the gauge I've sent you, and return your original gauge with cover I sent.

Once I receive your gauge and verify the miles and hours are reasonably within what you told me they were and promptly refund $200 of the $220 core charge.

I only have a few gauges to do this core exchange with, so hopefully it won't be sold out all the time.

Great Service!!!

Just got my gauge back from IZZNI and how cool is that. Having AFR for tuning is awesome and no extra gauges to worry about. Had some setup issues that I just didn't look close enough at website to figure out myself but Stefan was very patient with me and walked me through the setup of fuel readings. Will be sending in another for this upgrade for my other sled. Cat should give this guy a pile of money for figuring this out and make it standard for their sleds. Even if they don't he is a standup guy with a great product which I have no problem paying for this upgrade. Look at what a redline guage from Cutler is worth and this is a bargain.

Ill back this gauge reflash up too!! I am running the AFR/Boost with deluxe reflash on my M1100T and on my M800. What a clean, easy to use setup. Like SPOON said, if you price an afr gauge at $250 alone it is a bargain, but now I can check my intake temps, engine temp, speed, altitude, boost, AFR, mileage, rpm etc etc. AND record!!!

Get it done, you won't be sorry.

Couldn't agree more. Stefan is great to deal with as well. Top notch.

All that info is priceless, can't believe cat doesn't let us access it from the beginning.
