Dedicated RFS build. Will be pic heavy.

The steering is going to be tall. I installed an enduro engineering riser set that I had in the garage and added a 3.5" rox riser to that. I do have an extended throttle cable, and I plan on making a clutch cable to fit.

First thanks for posting your progress. Fun build

So why so tall? I'm sure taller guy and have found putting a bunch of height in my sled bars really helps me. I just haven't headed down that rode on any of my bikes yet.
Thanks!

I am 6'2" and last year I found myself wanting more rise. I posted on here a while back for input but I didn't get exactly what I was looking for in regards to feedback. I figured I will be the guinea pig and see how it goes.

I think the ergos are just going to be better for my body type.

you will enjoy the RFS..

You will really like the big torque from the RFS. I am going into my third season with a Thumper 570 kit, using Stage three cam, 12.5 piston, KW valves. FMF pipe. This bike has arm pulling torque, great power and reliability. Runs on pump premium gas. I could not be happier with this bike in general. I installed .52 springs and use 10 weight oil. Run a TS LT with TSS. Puts a smile on my face every time I ride it.

My bike started as a 2007 450 XCW, love the six speed trans!

Enjoy it... cheers!

Got my now 570 back from thumper racing last week. Started reassembly tonight. :) :)

My Carb Heater and Carb arrived today.

The carb is bored to 41 MM and jetted for the 570 by Thumper Racing.

The carb heater was a little bit of a project because the mouth of this carb is 2.5" which is bigger than the modern FCR carbs. Robbie from Avid was super helpful in modifying this to suit my carb.

I am going to freeze the carb overnight and then heat the carb heater with a propane torch to install tomorrow.

Installed my warranty replacement chains, steel tensioner sprockets, and added an old clutch spring to my tensioner bolt. I cut about 1.5 coils off the spring to make it fit right.

So I put the carb in the freezer over night.

I spent 2 minutes heating the carb heater up with my propane torch and slid it on the carb.

It was super easy. Big shout out to avid for fantastic workmanship.

Cleaned the pipes up and wrapped them today. I'm going to use the dei high temp black silicone spray to coat them.

So I had some trouble on my first ride, but have since gotten it sorted out.

Bike has 2 hours on it now and boy does it rip. It has exactly what my 530 from last season was missing.

I ended up putting new bearings and avid drivers on as well.

I have the gen 1 fcr carb on it. It was rebuilt by thumper racing and bored to 41 mm. I'm running a 185 main jet, blue JD needle in the 4th clip, and a 48 pilot. About 1000 to 2000 ft of elevation.

Bike rips!

From what I remember the carb bell on that bike is a bolt on plastic piece. Did it melt at all when you fitted the Avid carb heater? It also seems like it would insulate the heater from the rest of the carb. I don't know if they still make them, but a PowerNow aluminum bell might work better.

Nope no plastic...But I did ditch the carb heater because of the way it altered the clearance for my intake, and it was such a PITA to adjust the carb when installed. With my skid plate, shrouding, and properly vented carb lines I do not anticipate any problems.

Hummm, I guess the early ones were different or its not original to the bike, all the oem gen 1's I've seen were plastic. Nice ride!
