Decreasing Assault Wheelie

I have an '09 Assault. I installed an intake, SLP exhaust, some SLP clutching, lower gearing, and a Camo Extreme 146" x 2.5"

The problem is that the thing wheelies so much i cannot hardly control it. the front is always up in the air and I mean way up in the air. fun on the trail not fun when trying to climb, its out of control and just digs a hole. the sled runs great and pulls very hard but i need to get the front end down without ruining the light front end feel of it. I know the quick fix is to tighten the limiters (which are on loosest setting) but i am curious to what others are doing.

also, it doesnt seem to want to roll up and sidehill as easy as i would like it to, any fix to this other than narrowing ski stance and installing narrower front end?? Thanks!

We had the same prob. last yr. The limiter strap is the first step go to the middle hole then ride it and see what you think. We did the same thing to one last yr. that came for the flat lands but out here where I'm at there are very few trails and it is not flat, he could not keep the skis on the snow when climbing after a few minutes tecing in the snow on the straps it was day and night. If you do the straps and your still not happy then go to the rear shocks, and make the suspension work a little easier.

Just my two penny's

shorten the straps as suitcase said..stiffen the rear shock and soften the frt shock(dont go overboard a little makes a big difference.....same with the frts..soften them up a little will help lay it over..too much and it will get wild....

suspension coupler i posted this awhile ago but no response lol:D contacted ovs since they make one for the cat and ther working on one for polaris's if you jump alot this might not be the best option not sure on that but coupled suspension works great for boondocking/hills

The Assault stock rails are tipped up ever so slightly, i just had my stock skid next to my timbersled with straight rails. Big difference.

pj8556, is that camo ex rubbing on the top of your tunnel?

Yes, it will rub, my stock track must have rubbed on my tunnel based on the marks, so i'm sure the 2. 5 will. I did a drop and roll on my assault and will be running the camo 2.5 no miles on it yet!

my options are kind of slim with that center driver. do you think its a good idea to cut the center driver out and go with a 2.25 camo ex. im not really interested in installing a drop and roll kit.

I was reading from my dealers service manual that they have a setting for moving the front torque arm hole up 3/4" to add ski pressure and lower center of gravity. This involves drilling new holes above the current mounting holes and raising the arm up, and this is susposed to keep the full suspension travel. I havn't tried it due to liking the front end to come up on mine. This might help. I also dropped the pressure in my front shocks for better leaning, it is now a lot easier to pull over on a side hill.

i have experience a little track rub after the track stretched when new but since tightening it up to polaris specs i havent heard or felt it much if any at all

have you tried this or know somebody that has, my skid is moved back 1in and limiters tight as they go cant say i ever noticed it being hard to steer

I have 400 miles on my assualt with a 2.5" camo extreme, have it set to the factory tension specs(10 Lb.weight,16" from rear axle,3/8"to1/2" between hifax and track clip) it does not rub.
