Death at Hope Valley

Hi, I was riding with the guy who got hurt (not killed) at Hope Valley when it happened. He brushed through some trees when a branch poked him in the thigh. He got a puncture wound which bled pretty bad. We put a compress bandage on it and he rode back to the parking lot where he got checked out by the EMTs. EMTs thought it was an artery and wanted to Care Flight him out. He didn't want that and said he was fine to drive, which he eventually did.
I called him later in the afternoon to make sure he was OK, which he was. He had been to the ER and it was "just" a wound, no artery involved (arteries goes on the inside of your legs, not the outside).
I'm glad to hear it was and injury and not the other way

Glad to hear he wasn't hurt too badly. Sounds like it could have been a lot worse.
There have been way too many people killed this year already...my heart sunk when I thought there had been one more.
