Very very sad. Looking at the pictures, I would have ridden that area and not been too concerned. Like locals stated, slides have happened they have never seen before.

Agreed- a slope with that many trees would have appeared safe to me, I never would have suspected that one little open area could produce a slide, and certainly not one big enough to bury 3 sleds and 2 people. The typical mistakes you see in avy fatalities just don't seem to be present in this one. Very sad stuff.

Dozen more turn!

I just watch that film a dozen more turns and learned a few things that I didn't know a about avalanches.it's a reality check,and I think more people should watch it even though it's a skier film, it has good lessons that not just skiers and everyone looking to go in the backcountry should know.sad film but a reallity check that u need to be smart and know your terrain,avalanche dangers and fallowing threw with the plans that is set by the group
