Dead sled

Today i was out riding my 1100 turbo and it started to sputter and it died. I tried to start it and the battery is dead. Started fine when i first went out. Its a 2012 with about 600 miles and stock battery. Whats wrong with it has anyone had this problem?

Remove, clean, and reattach the battery terminals. If that doesn't work you will need to either charge or buy a new battery. If that stil doesn't work then maybe your voltage regulator. Still no luck, then the stator/alternator/whatever it is.

Sounds like a loose ground wire. They have a ton of wires stuffed under the seat to that terminal, a few too many if you ask me.

Check battery voltage & ground

Do you have power to lights, etc, but just won't crank over? If so, it is likely your starter solonoid has had it. Mine failed early this season, had to jump across the solonoid with a pair of pliers to start it.

The gauge will come on but when i try to crank it the gauge shuts off and whatever power is left goes away. Its like the battery is dead. But it started fine and ran good for 40 minutes or so before happening. Ill check all the connections to the battery in the morning. Hoping its not a big issue. Only had the sled since november and it was a new non current model.

That is exactly how my sled behaved when the battery terminal needed to be cleaned and tightened.

Thanks izzni, i will try that tomorrow. I forgot to mention that it does crank over a couple of times before losing power.

By the way i will be shipping my gauge off to you on friday.

Izzni were your battery terminals corroded when you had to clean them. Just asking because mine look clean

They had a bit fof green on them, but weren't that bad, or even really thay loose. I sanded it and tightened it good. It also would sometimes crank and then completely stop as well.

Just finished looking at my sled and the positive terminal was extremely loose. Almost falling out. So i just need to recharge the battery and hopefully that solves the problem. Thanks for all the help!
