Dead Sled!

So. started with having to pull headlight fuse to keep tach. Changed relay, still no differance. Kept riding and lost the tach and finally she died. Now it wont run but can get it to occasionaly fire but not run.Checked every connection etc. Any ideas?????????

Did you still have reverse? Sounds like your stator.

can't get it to run long enough to try it. It backfires, was backfireing before she "died".

got it running, guage lights up but flashs 9-9 and doesn't work and revers doesn't work. To get it to fire I "bent in" the dess key, fired up and no more backfire. Still stumped.

Are you hearing any beeps? I agree; I'm afraid you'll have to test your stator. "Bending in" the Dess key sounds odd. Clean the key, and post. I use a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Check the DESS post for cracks and the wiring connections under it.
