White says no Mir-Lesnar and no NYC for UFC 100
By Steve Cofield
Just after the fighters stepped off the stage at the UFC 93 weigh-in, the UFC president weaved his way through several topics presented by Kevin Iole (Yahoo! Sports), Gareth A. Davies (The Telegraph) and Neil Davidson (Canadian Press).

He put to rest rumors that UFC 100 would feature the Brock Lesnar-Frank Mir rematch.

Of course were not goin to see that fight for a while, if ever. The UFC will ride Lesnar for all he's worth. He's now their big ticket in the flagship division. They're not gonna give Mir the chance now that they have someone who sells ppv/tickets like Lesnar can. Its all about the $. Is too bad that the UFC is so commercialized and PRIDE was/is so unorganized:(. Oh well, the other divisions are much more intriguing anyway:beer;

btw- Id like to see Severn come back an whoop Lesnars a$$! Theres no school like the old skool

I wrestled lesner once he's not so tough although he has prob improved some since highschool

Gee, ya think so?

He was never a State Champ in High School & went on to be a D1 Heavyweight Champ.

Yea, he may have honed his skills a bit.;)

On a given day, any of the top teir MMA Heavyweights may get lucky & submit him, but like it or not, he is the real deal.

Mir and lesner will fight each other next regardless of which event. They are both heavyweight champs so the next step is to unify the belts, they cant go around fighting other people and changing titles....

he is the real deal and a perty decent guy to boot. do you ever see him around this neck of the woods anymore mafesto?

He get's back to town every once in awhile, but I haven't talked to him since he left WWE.
I'm 13 years older than him, so I don't want to make it sound like we were buddies or anything.
I knew his brothers better, they lived less than 2 miles from our farm.

As I said before, there are a few capable of catching Brock in a lucky submission, however I honestly do not believe there is anyone capable of putting an a$$whooping on him.

That'd be like a$$whipping an oak tree!

Watched him in UFC 91 from a few rows back and hes a monster.I hope he has a long run in the UFC.

He is better but honestly if Mir showed up like he did against Nog. I think he would have a good chance at beating him. The way Mir looked in his last fight I think he could stand up to any heavy weight. And yes that is BS they haven't set that fight up yet.

I think he'll go the way of Kimbo Slice. He really hasn't been tested yet. I think Randy would have done better if he didn't try to manhandle the big lug! I think Lesnar relies on his size too much. A technical fighter that sticks to a game plan can beat him. He is from the Selby area isn't he?

There certainly is a trend developing in MMA, and it is the upset. There is just so much new talent coming into the sport that a guy cannot dominate the way that Hughes/Liddell and before that Gracie/Shamrock did (as well as others of course). Although the Spider and Lesnar look reallllly impressive right now, it won't last. There will always be someone who can come along and knock some teeth in, lucky shot or not- ala Kimbo's last debacle.
