damage to track rail

yeti 120

what do you make of this damage on the track rail ?
a simple rock/stump strike, or something else? it does look like it got warm at some point.

should i just replace the plastic slider and leave the rest ? get it tig'd and ground back into shape? replace?
i haven't ever had this apart, but it looks like if i just replace the plastic slider, it'll be mostly fine, although maybe the plastic slider won't be completely supported in this area. as a novice, it seems a little premature to replace this whole arm for a little ding.

The damage is because you melted through the hyfax and had the metal clips wearing directly on the rail. If you can slide new hyfax on you’ll probably be fine, if not you’ll need to replace the rail.

Get some scratchers or learn to drag a toe to keep fresh snow in the skid.
