d8 cylinder decompression holes

ive heard of people useing jb weld sounds scary to me. i would also like to do it, but i dont really want to tear my cylinders off again

I thought on the D8 those were for exhaust valve operation, connecting to that external selenoid, although they might work for a bit of compression release too.

There are 2 sets of holes, one for exhaust valve operation, the other is a set of decompression holes to aid in starting the sled. They are supposedly closed off by the exhaust valves when they open. This is sketchy at best, but for the time, i have left mine alone. I would think it is good to plug them, potential gains are little throttle response and low end torque. Risks are potentially more detonation. probably the reason most have not touched them.
