One more question. I noticed yesterday that the top of the spark plug came unscrewed,(not the entire plug) but the part that fits into the rubber mount. Is that a sign of detonation?

ran my bpr9eix plugs at 13psi with no problems didnt even gap them just ran them out of the box i checked the gap before i put them in and i think it was about .022. never heard of platinum plugs melting

Yes. I would say that is a sign of some DET.
