D-Drive gear swap compatibility

Hello All,
A quick question for those that have worked on the D-Drive. I have a 07 M1 that I would like to lower the gearing on. I also have a 05 M8 BB that I have some spare DD's for. Can I swap out the drive gears between the two different drive styles. I know I could find out by tearing into them, but I'm just looking to save some time. I'm am also assuming (from info that I have read on here) that you can not make a 05 drive fit in the 07 hole.

No the 05-06 gears will not work in the 07-08 diamond drive. For the 07-08 you need reverse gears. The 05-06 drive will not fit in the 07 and up tunnel cut outs, you would have to buy a BDX lite drive to loose the heavy reverse drive. I think you may be able to put a 09-10 Dimond drive in it though (you would still loose reverse).

09-10 DD case is same as 07-08 reverse case but gears are same as 05-06 non reverse.
