Im looking at a king cat with the d&d 1010 kit on it and im curious how good of a kit is it? does it live? any problems?

hope someone has some input!

I've seen a couple of them on the snow, and have a friend on here with one.

It's a strong kit, and seems to have a pretty long life. My buddy's sled has been around for a long time & I can't think of him having to do any major motor work. Seems to be pretty reliable too, he isn't tuning or messing with it often at all.

We rode with one a few years back and it was pretty impressive. the only thing was he had it on a carburated sled and the change in temp and elevation changed how it ran. But yes it was trouble free as well.

My buddie found a used one two years ago. Our first trip with it was to cook city in april 08. We ran it with the pipes that came with it and it really didnt seem to run any better than my 16 year old daughters stock KingCat. His sled had slp twins from his 900 motor so we brought them with us to cook. We installed them over a lunch break and ran 400 mains with stock carbs. It ran way better not as finiky but was still way rich so by the end of the day we had 360 mains yellow white primary spring, 68 gr weights, 57/52 ramp, green sno pro spring, 035 cat belt. ran great. We only had one problem with the pistons in the 08-09 season. the top ring pin was machined to high and it allowed the ring to spin and hook the exhaust port. the pin ended up being .010 to high witch allowed the ring to turn. wisco did in time give him new pistons but did not cover the plating cost.
