Cutting Rails for Avid Driver and Anti-Stab???

I am putting together my new skid today!!!! Anyway...my question is how much should I cut off the front of the rails for the avid 8 tooth 3.0" drivers? they are ice age rails and stab kit. Do I use the hole that is there for the stab kit or does it get cut off and a new hole drilled? Also have MTN tamer setup on these rails. Thanks for the help!!!!!

I've only done a couple, and we did 7T 3.0's....had to use the holes for the limiter strap as the anti-stab mount and use that for the limiter....I reshaped the rail tips (made them shorter) and modified them to mount against the anti-stab shaft. If I remember correctly I gained about 2.5" and that was just enough for the 7T's. Not sure how that works with the 8T's but I'm sure someone here will know for sure.
Also...this was with stock rails.

Yeah...that is what I thought. I have the anti stab kit on there now...but I just don't have alot in front of it to cut off. If I have to take more than like an inch...I am going to have to move the anti stab holes back. That is fine if that is what everyone is doing. I just did not know if this would effect my limiter straps for the mtn tamer suspension. All advice appreciated. Thanks!!!

Leave the holes from the limited straps and just drill them out a little. I used an air saw to cut half an inch off the rail tips and then rounded off the ends. Has worked great for 400 plus miles.

Scroll down the page of IQ section and look at "my mnt. tamer installation" by some guy named "mountainhorse", that's how you want your rail tips! Anti-stab replaces and substitutes for limiter straps, cut them shy of outside radius of the wheel kit and you're good to go. (Good illustration MH!)

Move where the limiter strap bar goes back 1 inch and mount your wheels there
Make sure to cut the rails back a little more than the hight of the rubber cogs on the track.

Trim them off just in front of the limiter strap bar holes... substitute the limit strap bar with the anti-stab kit as shown in the pic.

I ran this on a 155 RMK with 8 tooth Avid drivers on the 2.86" pitch track. Mountain Tamer suspension.
