Cutting a track

the guys with a 3" who want a 15 wide seem to be running a table saw, i have seen some pretty slick contraptions to keep it up in the air to work on it.

A good quallity Table saw and hanging the track above it works very well.
If you do it with Ryobi type it will be the last thing that saw cuts..
Hint.. It really helps to have two peaple..

I have seen a couple of youtube video's and they were all using s table saws. What a mess though. Do a search on youtube. You will get a few for triming lugs but you ill see a few more triming the whole track.

Whats the best way to cut a track to make it narrower. Thanx

I've had someone else do it and done it myself with a table saw. With my saw, I actually was able to run the track around the bottom of the saw and just rotate it around.
It wasn't that messy. I used a carbide tip blade (actually used used two after one was dull) and did it myself. Took about 3 hours. Have run the track for a few hundred miles with no issues and no fraying.
The smell of burning rubber is probably the worst, and make sure you are wearing safety goggles.

I used a table saw to cut mine. It works good and I didnt think it was too bad of a job to do. I used 2 carbide blades doing it. Here's some pics of how I did it.

I have never used a table saw, to me it looks scary and a pain in the a$$, I have had alot of luck using a hand held band saw turned as slow at it goes, no lube. it is slow but cuts like butter, kinda hard to keep it perfectly straight but easy! and no burned rubber, or stinky smoke, or loud noises. I am sure a band saw of any type would work.

this is the second year on the track I did with the band saw and the fiberglass rods show obvioulsy but they are still tight together and dont show any signs of fraying or coming a part, same with the edges of the track
